Agama
Yoga is a Tantra Yoga school founded by Swami Vivekenanda Saraswati.
School headquarters are on the island of Koh PhaNgan, in southern Thailand.
There are also branches of Agama in many countries around the world.
Wendy
and Darin, who have been studying yoga together since 1991, first began
studying with Agama in 2001 while on vacation in Rishikesh India. After
their first hatha yoga practice and an evening lecture with Swami Vivekenanda
they immediately knew that this style of yoga resonated with them. They
have been studying with the school ever since. In 2007 they both completed Agama's 3 month Intensive Yoga
Teacher Training Course. Each winter, in Shanti's
off season, they spend 3 months studying and teaching with Agama in
Thailand.
This year, Wendy and Darin will offer some of the teachings of Agama here
at Shanti as part of the regularly scheduled Shanti Yoga Retreat Weekends.
We're also excited to offer several special weekend workshops facilitated
by senior Agama yoga teachers Monika and Manu. Swami Vivekenanda Saraswati
will also return for his fifth consecutive season to Shanti where he will once again offer a series
of thrilling weekend workshops.(please see the events page
of the website for more details).
