off your day searching for that special antique at a quaint, nearby
antique shop. Afterwards visit the small and picturesque Lake
on the Mountain Provincial Park, located 200 feet above the Bay
of Quinte. Be sure to take in the amazing panoramic view which is a
must-see for every visitor to the County. Take in the scenery while
having lunch
at Lake on the Mountain Inn, a historical stone building restaurant.
A ten minute scenic drive along historic
Loyalist Parkway brings you to the newly-opened Claramount
Inn and Spa, overlooking Picton Bay. Why not pamper yourself with
a sampling of their spa treatments?
For nature lovers,
an alternative full day tour could take you to Little
Bluff Conservation Area, for a short hike along nature trails, and
a swim. Afterwards visit Prince
Edward Point Bird Observatory, situated at the southeastern-most
tip of the County, on Long Point Peninsula. The observatory is a haven
for birds year round.
For sun seekers
there is the popular summer destination of Sand
Banks Provincial Park. It boasts one of the finest beaches in Ontario
and phenomenal
sand dunes. Build sandcastles, have a picnic, and refresh yourself
with a swim.
